SOMX- Crazy Ride but Ended Well

So I broke my plan already. However, the trade did turn out well, very well.

I bought SOMX yesterday at around 12:55 PM Pacific time, 5 minutes before the close. I bought in at $9.20. I watched the stock move nicely; eventually hitting $10 which was a good time to sell for a number of reasons. One reason is that 10$ is a whole number and any time a stock approaches a whole number, it's a very cautious point. Second reason is I had about 30 seconds before the market closed and I wanted out. I really dislike holding stocks over night.

I went about setting up my order to sell at $10 and hit the preview before finally submitting my "final answer". For whatever reason, I don't know why, I never hit the submit order button right after the preview stage and ended up holding the position overnight. A definitely scary situation considering the stock fell all the way back to $9.20 after hours, wiping out all my paper gains. I immediately put in a limit order after hours at $9.10, .10 cents below my buy price. A tight stop price, indeed, but I wanted to limit the loss from my stupid mistake in case the stock decided to sell off at the open, I'd be out.

In the end, I was forced to hold the stock over night. The next morning I was watching pre-market to get an idea of what it was doing and was surprised to see it bouncing between 9.30-9.40. What was amazing was watching the stock jump .35 cents in 1 second immediately at the open. Before I knew it the stock hit $10.35, fell a bit and I hit the sell button and bailed out right at $10, which is the price I wanted out in the first place. A great end to a bumpy night; a 7.14% return!

The chart below is 2 days worth of intra-day data on 10 minute interval candles. The red and green lines roughly represent my entry and exit points.

VRUS- Best Gain Ever

Wow, just had my best gain ever passing up HSOA by a long shot. This was a 25R trade, which means I made 25 times my initial risk on the trade. Not my capital risk but how much I was willing to let it drop in dollars before I bailed. Anyone who likes percentages this was a 21.5% gain

Surprisingly I feel pretty calm. Slightly excited, but under control. My HSOA gain I was jumping around and couldn't believe how much I made, I think that was a 12-15R gain, can't remember.

Anyway, I got in at 22.33 started rocketing up and realized I was on to something so I got rid of my itchy trigger finger and bailed on half my shares at 23.77 Kept running and my room mate told me, sell sell!! I said, "I'm making money why would I sell?" I didn't want too, but I had so much cash and I felt content, so I bailed. Looking at the chart I shouldn't of sold out so fast. lol, even when I get huge gains I still bail out early. Something I need to work on badly.

HSOA- Best Gain in a Long Time

I was looking around my watch list for about 25 minutes looking at a lot of charts and to see if I could spot a strong one. I almost bought RDN and LEH which would of been at their peaks but I didn't buy them. Something about them didn't seem right. I came across HSOA and I loved the momentum it had and it was backed by the strong volume along with going against the QQQQ's (something I've really been keeping an eye out for). I also loved how it was flattening out under resistance but still making higher lows. I hesitated to get in at 2.39 and sure enough I saw it blast through resistance. I got my order in at 2.45 and unloaded my first lot at 2.48 and then again at 2.53

I didn't raise my stop that much because it flattened out a bit and I didn't want to be too aggressive so I left it alone. When it started blasting up like crazy is when I really started moving my stop to break even and then to 2.60 which I got close to be stopped out. Once the blast off seemed to settle I saw the selling pressure increase for the first time since this whole move and I figured a decline was coming. I was happy with what I made and decided to unload the last 50% at 2.67 Another wise move as it ended up falling to about 2.56 as I'm writing this and watching the chart.
